Training Mission Statement

Theory & Practical tests with CPCS accreditation

"Outstanding Training Provider 2014" Ofsted award

Our practical training facility at Longtown has been designed solely with the learner in mind; we have made the area as close to the real life conditions that may be encountered on site, but still retained the level of control the Trainers need to ensure everyone's safety.

To help maximise its employees’ skills base and build on already admirable safety practices, Stobart Rail has established a dedicated training centre at its Carlisle head office. Our Training is carried out at two locations; one at our head office in Carlisle which is the base for our administration team and the other at Longtown.

The Stobart Rail Training Department provides quality instruction in both track safety duties and a variety of other essential rail and civils-related skills. These include the operation and supervision of on-track and construction plant. NVQ assessments in a broad range of traditional construction skills are also available.

Well established as a much respected centre of excellence in training, the Stobart Rail facility is also open to other businesses working in the general construction and railway sectors. The range of courses available provides an invaluable source to assist them in meeting today’s ever increasing demand for competency assurance.
